Two mothers had a conversation one day about mothers who are connected online socially. The dialogue went something like this:
Mom 1: “there seems to be a huge mommy culture in the US…it’s weird because I know many in social networks, and those of color that don’t emphasize it in their everyday musings”
Mom 2: “very true. I know there are plenty out there who have ideals/thoughts and opinions, but spend time talking about careers and interests along with parenting”
Now there are plenty of mom-geared sites on the web…many bloggers write musings about their lives as stay at home moms (SAHM), or about motherhood, and some about mothers who work. Searching online for mothers brings up a list of articles and sites about marketing to mothers – as if mothers are some distinct group that needs separate marketing efforts…but let’s save that for a blog post.
So with this blog, let’s just take a look at mothers who work, mothers who work in marketing, and mothers who are being marketed too. Now that we have a start…let’s see where this ‘discussion’ takes us.
